NPL Division One East Round-Up
Brilliant Pontefract Collieries defeated league leaders Stockton Town 2-1 at Beechnut Lane on Tuesday night thanks to Spencer Clarke’s late header.
The superb win over the North East giants propels Craig Rouse’s side into third spot.
The game came alive in the second half when Elliott Beddow placed Stockton in front.
Joe Lumsden quickly responded and it was left to Clarke to score the winner.
Ponte’s Jack Shepherd was sent off following a kerfuffle after the goal.
A last minute goal condemned Stocksbridge Park Steels to a disappointing 3-2 home defeat to Lincoln United.
The Steels had fought back from 2-0 at one stage through goals from Kurtis Turner and Lewis Macaskill.
