Ossett United have turned back the clock with their recruitment of their new manager.
Club icon Grant Black returns to Ingfield, four years after stepping down as Ossett Town manager, and it is an outstanding appointment by the club.
Black, seen by many as one of the best young bosses around, will be assisted by Mick Norbury, David Brown and Ryan Pugh.
He replaces Jas Colliver whose exit was announced on Wednesday morning.
James Rogers, chairman of Ossett said: “Many fans of Ossett United have been long admirers of Grant Black following his achievements at both Ossett Town and Belper Town and we are delighted that we have been able to secure his services, along with Mick Norbury, David Brown and Ryan Pugh, all of whom have strong connections with one or both or our predecessors, Ossett Albion and Ossett Town.
“Grant brings with him great experience and many achievements for his relatively short career in management and we are confident that he is the right man for the job and will relish the prospect of getting Ossett United back up the league table and competing for honours.”
Black enjoyed an incredible spell in charge of Ossett.
He saved them from almost certain relegation at the end of the 2015/16 season and amazingly turned them into promotion contenders in the following campaign.
Ossett were then two minutes away from promotion in the play-off final until Farsley Celtic equalised and later won in extra-time.
Black left in December 2017 and has since won promotion at Belper Town alongside success in the FA Cup.
