Mark Bower has heaped praise on Bradford (Park Avenue)’s loan rangers Will Lancaster and Tom Angell.
Lancaster, Barnsley’s under 23s captain and Sheffield United’s Angell have been key men for Avenue over the last six weeks.
Speaking before the 2-1 win over Boston United, Bower said of Lancaster: “He’s done well.
“He got thrown in for the first one at Chester but he’s picked things up really quickly.
“I’m been really impressed with how he has adjusted to the level.
“He has shown really good maturity and I think he has come on a lot over the short period he has been with us.
“If we can keep him for a bit longer that improvement will continue and the experience will certainly stand him in good stead.”
On Angell, he said: “Tom has done well.
“When players come from that level they can be inconsistent when they are getting used to the level.
“He has probably got the physical attributes that suit the level.
“He loves a tackle. He puts his body on the line.
“He’s not the tallest player in the world but he’s not afraid to get his head on stuff.
“In some games he has been a good outlet for us and he’s put some good quality in the box.
“We’ve been pleased with him.”
Bower also praised Lloyd Smith who has scored three in three on loan at Frickley Athletic.
“He’s a good player is Lloyd and we like him,” he said.
“Playing is a different level to what he has been playing at so getting some men’s football experience under his belt by going out and getting kicked and getting some battle scars will certainly bring him on and aid his development.
“That’s the purpose of the loan.
“We like him and we think he has something about him and this loan spell will really help out.”
