A former Farsley Celtic assistant manager has taken charge of a League One club.
Mark Jackson is the new chief of MK Dons, continuing his meteoric rise since leaving Farsley for Leeds United in 2015.
Jackson played in the Premier League for Leeds under George Graham in the mid-1990s before enjoying a career in the Football League with the likes of Scunthorpe United and Rochdale.
He joined Farsley in 2007 for their one season in Non League’s top flight.
When Neil Parsley became Farsley manager in October 2008, Jackson was appointed player/assistant manager.
During his time at Throstle Nest, Jackson helped Farsley win the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title in 2011.
He remained in the role until November 2015 when he went to work within Leeds’ academy, initially as under 15/16s coach before taking the under 18s manager’s job.
Jackson was promoted to under 23s in 2020 before a further promotion earlier this year by becoming first team coach under Jesse Marsch.
