Scarborough Athletic’s return to form continued as Rudy Funk’s men cruised to an impressive 3-0 victory at high-flying Carlton Town in the Evo Stik Division One South, writes James Grayson.
In-form striker Lewis Clarkson gave Scarborough a dream start inside the opening two minutes after lobbing Carlton goalkeeper Curtis McDonald.
Athletic never looked back and Clarkson soon turned provider with a pass for Ryan Blott to score from.

Rob Bordman stole the show in Wakefield FC’s Division One North 3-2 win at Salford City, who appear to be in free-fall.
Salford have now lost six league games in a row and have only won once since September 7th.
Wakefield took full advantage of their host’s low morale and raced into a 3-0 lead at half-time.
Bordman opened the scoring with a speculative attempt after spotting that Salford stopper Andrew Miller was away from his goal.
Bordman completed his hat-trick before half-time and Wakefield managed to prevent a late Salford comeback to earn all three points.

Farsley AFC moved up to third in the table after a comfortable 2-0 victory over Radcliffe Borough.
Lee Ellington got both goals with two headers in the first half. The win made easier in the second half when Radcliffe’s centre-half Chris Thompson was dismissed for striking Matty James.
Harrogate Railway were soundly beaten 4-0 at Ramsbottom United at Station View.
Billy Miller’s Railway found themselves 3-0 down at the break after Dominic Smalley, Jon Robinson and Philip Dean scored for the visitors.
Dean sealed the points in the second half and Railway’s frustrating afternoon ended on further sour note when Joel Dixon, recently signed from Frickley Athletic, was sent off for a bad tackle.
Ossett Albion’s mini revival is over – Richard Tracey’s side lost 3-2 at Prescot Cables yesterday.
Dale Kelly equalised for Ossett in the first half, but Prescot scored two more and a late own goal by Gerard Murphy was too late for Albion.
