John Reed left Ossett Town after their 1-1 draw with Kendal Town today
John Reed and Ossett Town parted company earlier today after the club’s 1-1 draw with Kendal Town.
Reed’s departure ends his 18-month reign at Ingfield and he leaves with the club just above the relegation zone in the Evo Stik Division One North table.
The parting of ways has come through mutual consent and Reed said: “I have really enjoyed my time at Ossett Town.
“It is a fantastic club run by great people and I am sorry that we are parting company, but I do think a fresh start is needed to get this season back on track.
“I will be watching out for their results and wish them well for the future.”
The former Buxton and Harrogate Town boss replaced Craig Elliott in February 2014 and went onto guide them to an eighth place finish.
Last season did not go to plan as Ossett struggled.
Ossett chairman James Rogers said: “It’s been a pleasure working with John over the last two years and I thank him for all that he has done for the club in that time.
“Both John and the club have agreed to part company with this season’s results not been quite where we all want them to be.
“Everyone at Ossett Town would like to thank John for his time and dedication to the club over the past 20 months and we wish him well for the future.”
