Graham Nicholas has conceded defeat in Garforth Town’s fight for a top ten Toolstation NCEL Premier Division finish.
After the woeful defeat at struggling Nostell Miners Welfare in midweek, Garforth are nine points adrift of tenth-placed Pickering Town with 12 matches to play.
Nicholas described the performance at Nostell as “embarrassing” and is promising sweeping changes for the local derby with Tadcaster Albion on Saturday.
His Leeds Met University players are set to return after missing the loss at Nostell and Nicholas said: “We will go to Tadcaster with a totally different squad and hopefully we will give a better account of ourselves.
“We’ll turn up and the players that play will be expected to do a job. We’re going to have most of the team back and I’m looking forward to watching them play.
“Tuesday night was a must-win game if we were going to challenge for the top ten. I can’t see that happening now.
“I think it is falling away, especially with the Nostell performance. I’ve said before that consistency is the key and if you don’t have the same players week-in week-out then you’re going to struggle.
“The target now is to finish as high as we can up the table.”

Curtly Martin-Wyatt is back from a three-match ban for a red card picked up in late December.
The striker has scored nine times since signing for the club in October and Nicholas is delighted to have him back.
“He gives us a different dimension because he’s big, powerful and can score goals,” he added.
“We can play through him because he holds the ball up well. We need someone who can score goals and Curtly can do that.”
