Mark Jackson has left Farsley Celtic to go work with his old mentor Paul Hart at Leeds United.

Jackson, who began his career with the Whites, is taking up an academy post with Leeds. Hart recently returned as academy director at Leeds, the position he held when Jackson came through the system at Elland Road.

Jackson leaves Farsley with legendary status after eight years at Throstle Nest as a player and then assistant manager.

He also departs from his position as academy manager.

Arrving from Rochdale in 2007, Jackson played for Farsley in the Conference Premier and North and stayed loyal when the club folded in 2010. – when by now he was Neil Parsley’s joint assistant manager.

He led the fightback of the reformed club in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division and became captain in 2011.

Current captain Rob O’Brien said: “Jacko has been a great servant to the club through all the good times and bad.

“He has had a massive impact on Farsley and definitely on me since I joined the club and I’m sure the rest of the lads will say the same.

“He is irreplaceable to some extent, but the job at Thorp Arch is perfect for him and he will be successful I am certain. We wish him the best of luck.”
