Harrogate Railway could have two new faces in their squad at Northwich Victoria tomorrow.
Railway have a special relationship with neighbours Harrogate Town and young under 19s players Rob Hiza and Derrell Goodison have been training at Station View for the last two weeks.
Railway chief Billy Miller has had to plug the gaps caused by injuries to Lawrence Hunter, Simon Parkes and Simon Wood along with the departure of Joel Dixon to Tadcaster Albion.
Wood is in line to return for the Evo Stik Division One North trip to Northwich and Miller said: “We have managed to pick up two lads from our relationship with Harrogate Town.
“They have come in and started training with us so they could possibly be involved at Northwich.
“We have another player in the pipeline at the moment. We’re dealing with a player who has been without a club.
“With Dixon going, it opened up a little bit of a gap in the squad. We only have a 16 man squad so bringing the two young lads in has done us the world of good.
“One is a right full back and the other is a central midfielder. They are young lads so they are more about development rather than filling gaps.
“Mike Morris will also return tomorrow as he was away last time out so we should be back to full strength.”
Harrogate and Northwich meet for the first time since Railway’s dramatic 2-1 win back in October.
Hunter hit the last minute winner then and Miller admits Railway used that victory as a springboard.
“Judging on their performance at Farsley its going to be a difficult test, he added.
“The win over Northwich in October kicked started our season and it was a great result.
“At the time, they had come into the league and were doing really well and it was probably our first big scalp of the season.
“We had a difficult September and during that time had played a couple of games with ten men so the Northwich win started us off and we have just kept going from there.
“We got a couple of big games coming up. We have Northwich tomorrow and then Curzon at home on Monday which will be a big test for us.”
