Tadcaster Albion and Handsworth Parramore were knocked out of the FA Vase last night – leaving Cleethorpes Town as the Toolstation NCEL’s last hope in the competition.
Tadcaster, who reached the quarter-finals last season, were soundly beaten by 4-0 at Sunderland RCA.
Referee Lucy Oliver did play a starring role in two of the goals, but Tadcaster failed to turn up on the night.
Oliver accidentally blocked the ball on the halfway line which Sunderland allowed to surge and for Colin Larkin to score a superb goal.
Larkin completed his hat-trick straight after the break – the third being a very controversial penalty.
Michael Charlton added the fourth in the last minute.
Handsworth lost 2-1 to Cleethorpes at Sandy Lane after Louis Grant’s late strike.
Extra-time was looming after Luke Fletcher had cancelled out Marc Cooper’s early penalty for Cleethorpes.
