It was nerve-wracking towards the end, but Rossington Main won the six-pointer with fellow strugglers Worsbrough Bridge.

The crucial 2-1 win was Rossington’s first in Toolstation NCEL Division One since mid-November. Main are now five points clear of the bottom two.

Rossington hit the front foot straightaway as the recently-returned Jordan Hatton headed from a corner.

Twelve minutes and another cross later and Callum Wiffan had doubled Rossington’s lead from a free header.

Scott Whittington dragged Bridge back into it six minutes into the second half. Mark Joyce’s side then threw the proverbial kitchen sink at Rossington.

However, despite a succession of chances, Bridge could not force the equaliser.

Hemsworth Miners Welfare picked up where they left off before the enforced break.

Hemsworth smashed Winterton Rangers 5-2 with Dom Blair, Robbie Crapper, Nash Connolly and Bill Law (2) scoring.

Knaresborough Town had to settle for four goals in their victory over whipping boys Lincoln Moorlands Railway.

Gary Collier (2), Brad Walker and Blaine Hobson scored, but Knaresborough boss Paul Stansfield believed his side could have reached double figures.
