Mick Godber has massively strengthened his Handsworth Parramore strike-force with the signing of former Alfreton Town forward Anthony Wilson, who has decided to return to his roots.

Sheffield-born Wilson was recently released by National League North side Gainsborough Trinity. Wilson started his career in the NCEL with Hallam before successful spells with Belper, Alfreton and North Ferriby.

Parramore interim boss Godber said:“ Ant is a great signing for us, he is a quality player with a excellent record in higher leagues. We’ve done a deal to the end of the season and his arrival will add real quality and competition into what is already a great group of players”

Wilson added: “I’m really happy to have signed for Handsworth, they are a very ambitious club with a great reputation. It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to come into a well run club who are challenging for honours. I know a number of the lads in what is a very strong squad and to be honest can’t wait to get started. I’ve signed to the end of the season and we’ll see where it takes me and the club.”
