Chris Hilton reckons Stocksbridge Park Steels can mount a bid to reach the play-offs.
Although they sit in the bottom half, the Steels are only five points aways and have several matches in hand.
“There were a lot of people pressing the panic button and saying ‘you’re only five points away from relegation, but we had seven or eight games in hand on some teams,” Hilton said.
“We always knew that once as we started those games, as along as we put the points on the board that we would shoot up the table.
“The games are coming thick and fast and as long as we’re picking points up, we’ll keep moving up it. I can’t see why we can’t make the play-offs as we cut out making basic errors.
“Because of the way we are playing going forward, we’re creating lots of chances and scoring regularly now. We just need to tighten up at the back and that’s as a team, not just a back four.”
