Kev Allsop has seen enough of Nostell Miners Welfare to be convinced that the current squad can pull the club out of relegation trouble.
Only one place and point now separate Nostell and the relegation zone. Allsop continues in his role as the interim manager when Nostell visit Clipstone this afternoon.
“Tuesday night was always going to be a difficult one simply because of where we are in the league compared to Cleethorpes, but we have every in-and-around us to play,” he said. “Quite a few of them fixtures are at home.
“I have every confidence in the lads that if they keep digging deep we’ll get out of trouble. It is not a great situation, but it’s in our own hands.
“I worked in and around the players all season so I think I know the strengths of the players. There may be a couple of signings on the horizon, but in all honesty I’m not looking for numbers, I’m looking to try and work with what we have got.
“We have some real quality, it is just that luck is deserting us at the moment. We are looking solid though. We’re looking organised and we’re trying to move forward once we have the ball, even in defence.
“We’re looking confident and we have a structure. We’re trying desperately to basically play some good football and carry an attacking threat forward with the pace we have out wide.”
