Fatlum Ibrahimi scored on his Knaresborough Town debut during a straight-forward victory for Paul Stansfield’s side.

Knaresborough had a host of chances throughout their return to winning ways. Grimsby’s goal had been peppered before Frazer Lancaster intercepted a back-pass and scored with a finish into the corner of the net.

Further chances followed in the second half as George Eustance and Nick Radcliffe went close. Knaresborough were then awarded a penalty when Ben Parkes was felled. Brad Walker’s spot kick was saved, but Ibrahimi, signed on Friday after his recent departure from Harrogate Railway, covered the rebound.

Knaresborough came close to adding the third on several occasions before it eventually arrived in the 77th minute. Jim Bradley made the long break forward and he crossed for Parkes to score.

Knaresborough Town: Rushworth; Lees, Maullin, Cook, Radcliffe (Riley), Parkes, Bradley, Ibrahimi, Eustance; Walker (Freeston), Lancaster (Fisher-Powell).
