Leaders Hemsworth shrugged off another promotion rival to move a step closer to the Premier Division.

Their fifth straight win maintained their eleven point lead. The Wells have eleven games to play and seven more wins will currently secure automatic promotion.

It wasn’t Hemsworth’s finest performance, but Wayne Benn’s men did enough to take the maximum points.

Shirebrook gifted them the first goal as Brandon Cardwell’s back-pass was far too short and Danny Critchlow nipped in to score into the empty net.

The experienced Shane Kelsey increased Hemsworth’s lead with a deflected free kick.

A back-post header from Jake Currie brought Shirebrook back into it on the stroke of half-time, but Hemsworth held out in the second half despite pressure from the visitors.
