Teversal 2-2 Penistone Church
Ian Richards was removed from the dugout as ten man Penistone Church’s play-offs hopes took a hit.
Richards had to sit out the final 15 minutes in the dressing room after a row with old adversary referee Andrew Price, the official whose whistle problems caused the infamous four minute delay when Penistone played Selby in January.
Things looked rosy for Penistone though after a first half which saw Ollie Fearon give them the lead after lobbing the Teversal goalkeeper.
That’s not to say Teversal had not made Adam Rhodes make some good saves. Teversal got their reward their efforts straight after half time as manager Dean Short volleyed home.
Alvin Riley put Penistone back in front before the tensions reached boiling point. A second yellow card for Penistone attacker Danny Joynes raised it. Richards was then sent off for the first time in his managerial career.
Teversal also had Penistone under the cosh and they deservedly equalised with five minutes to go – Jason Dawson getting the goal.
