Tadcaster Albion manager Billy Miller believes the title race is still wide open, despite Handsworth Parramore opening up a four-point lead.
The gap was created after Tadcaster drew 0-0 with Cleethorpes Town and Parramore won at Parkgate.
Tadcaster still have a game-in-hand and have to play Handsworth in ten days’ time so Miller is not writing his team out of it.
“I don’t think Saturday’s draw makes a lot of difference at this moment in time,” Miller told Non League Yorkshire.
“There’s nine games to go. If it was three games to go I would say that it pretty much puts the title in Handsworth’s hands.
“There is still a lot of football to play and all to play for. I think it is going to be close and tight and it makes the game against Handsworth here a massive match.
“We said earlier in the season that if we were still in the title race in April that it would be a good place to be. And we have given ourselves a chance.”
Tadcaster make the short journey to Garforth this evening, weather permitting, and Miller added: “I think with it being a local derby it does add a bit more spice.
“It is quite well-documented that Garforth are in a rebuilding phase and it is a free hit for them.
“Any team we play it is a massive scalp for them. I have done it in the past with Railway, especially when we beat Salford twice last season.”
