Shaw Lane revved up the pressure on leaders Stafford Rangers after brushing aside Spalding in Barnsley.

Aquaforce, now unbeaten in 16 games, are still on course to overtake Stafford, provided they win their games-in-hand.

Their latest victory was not totally straight-forward. James Walshaw might have put Aquaforce in front early on, but it Spalding who created a number of chances.

Goalkeeper Tom Morgan had been forced into making several good saves before the second goal arrived – a header from Gav Allott.

The points were soon wrapped up as Lee Bennett struck a low effort that fizzed across the goal-line and ultimately given as a goal by the assistant referee.

In-form substitute Adam Priestley came off the bench to add the gloss with two late goals.
