AFC Emley leapfrogged AFC Mansfield to jump to third after a straight-forward victory in East Yorkshire.

There was a chaotic start to the match as Emley won a penalty immediately from kick off as Ruben Jerome’s mazy run was stopped by a foul from Danny Blount. Robbie Graham converted the spot kick, instead of Ash Flynn whose hamstring problem forced him to be on the bench.

Hall Road were then awarded a penalty themselves, but Emley stopper Adam Lawlor saved Danny Walker’s effort.

Emley then left nothing to chance and quickly struck their other three goals to put the clash beyond Hall Road.

Starting in the 49th minute, a Mike Thompson’s own goal set Emley further on their way. New signing Craig Billington’s header was the third before Jordan Townsend scored from a free kick.

Callum Harrison scored a consolation in the last few minutes for Hall Road.
