Yorkshire Amateur endured a night to forget as AFC Mansfield kept control of their own destiny in the promotion race.

Kick-off was delayed as the Ammers got stuck in traffic. A few players didn’t even make it in time so 48-year-old Ammers coach Dave Thompson had to start the game.

A double from Craig Mitchell and solitary strike from Grant Allott saw Mansfield home. The Ammers, whose goal was scored by former Garforth Town man Dan Sheriffe, had Fernando Moke sent off. They lost a further man in the closing stages.

Westella have a great chance of reaching the top half after easing past already relegated Lincoln.
