Toolstation NCEL Division One
Selby Town 0-5 Knaresborough Town
Knaresborough Town are still there fighting for a play-offs place after a clinical display at Selby.
Hull’s 12 point deduction also made the night even sweeter. With Hallam still to play, Knaresborough are in a good position to surprise many in the next two weeks.
Their latest conquest only got the thumbs-up at the last minute after two deluges between 4.30pm and 6.00pm. Helped by initiative shown by Selby earlier this week to give the pitch a chance of staging three games in five days, volunteers were able to make it playable.
Knaresborough were in control at half-time. Will Lenehan’s header got things started. Toby Lees put them further ahead with a close range finish.
Frazer Lancaster settled matters on the hour mark after poor defending from Selby.
Knaresborough rubbed salt in Selby’s wounds with late strikes from Brad Walker and Lancaster.
