McCauley Shillito scored in the first minute to complete Athersley’s dramatic escape from relegation.

Athersley looked doomed two weeks ago after losing at Garforth, but three consecutive brilliant victories have secured survival.

The Rec can now enjoy their last two fixtures, while also aiming to give outgoing joint manager Jason Dodsworth the perfect send-off.

Nostell’s relegation confirmed

Nostell Miners Welfare are the first club to be relegated from the Premier Division this season.

Nostell lost 2-1 at Albion Sports due to Ferdinand Annor’s last minute goal for the Lions.

Handsworth stay on top

A late flurry of goals earned Handsworth Parramore a 5-0 victory over Armthorpe Welfare.

Will Eades gave Parramore a first half lead before late strikes from Danny Buttle (2), Kieran Wells and Harry Groombridge completed the win.

In tother Premier Division game concerning Yorkshire sides, Josh Nodder’s goal was all Maltby Main needed to beat Barton Town Old Boys.
