AFC Emley striker Ash Flynn is a major doubt for the play-offs

70-goal hero Ash Flynn is a major doubt for the play-offs after limping off during AFC Emley’s 3-2 defeat to Bottesford Town last night.

Flynn cut a dejected figure in the second half as he sat in the Welfare Ground main stand watching his colleagues, having gone off at half-time with a hamstring problem.

The striker faces a race against time to be fit for Emley’s play-offs semi-final against either Penistone Church or Hallam next Tuesday at the Welfare Ground.

Darren Hepworth told Non League Yorkshire: “It doesn’t look good and it is a problem he has been carrying for a while.

“Flynny has been a major part of our success this season so it is obviously a major blow.

“Will he be fit? It is far too early to tell. The odds are not good at the moment.”

Flynn is certainly ruled out of Emley’s trip to Knaresborough Town on Saturday.
