Shaw Lane Aquaforce are aiming to finally beat bogey side Lincoln United

Shaw Lane Aquaforce and Hallam are set for crucial play-offs semi-finals and both are playing sides have done the double over them this season.

Aquaforce are hosting Lincoln United in the Evo Stik Division One South play-offs, bidding to face Coalville in Saturday’s final.

Shaw Lane controversially lost at Lincoln in August. Lincoln then went onto become the only team to beat them in the league in Barnsley in January.

“You can say it is our bogey side, but we never had our strongest side out against them,” Aquaforce chief Craig Elliott said.

“They played us at a good time. But it doesn’t matter who you play in the play-offs though because they’re in there for a reason and that’s because they’re good teams.

“We have to look forward to it and embrace it.”

Hallam enjoyed a tremendous away record in the league in the regular season.

Ryan Hindley’s men recorded just one defeat on the road, at Bottesford Town – their hosts and opponents in the play-offs.

Hallam, who will travel to AFC Emley on Saturday if they win, must be confident having gone on a fine run towards the end of the season.
