Toolstation NCEL Premier Division
Former Brighouse Town midfielder Gregg Porter is the latest new recruit at Harrogate Railway.
Porter was influential during Brighouse’s rise from being a lowly Premier Division side to a title challenger. He was also Paul Quinn’s first managers’ player of the year.
Porter is the third new signing at Station View behind Danny Stimpson and Jake Lofthouse.
Ashforth said: “Greg is a player who I have known through my work at the Shay Stadium for a few years and when I knew he was available, I fought to secure his signature.
“Greg gives us a bit of bite in the team, and will drive us forward.”
Ashforth has also revealed his retained list: Simon Parkes, Alex Low, Greg Kidd, Dan Barrett, Ryan Sharrocks, Charlie Clamp, George Mason, Steve Bromley and Harry Brown.
Railway kick off their pre-season schedule with the visit of Darlington 1883 to Station View tomorrow night.
Railway legend Nathan Cartman is expected to be in Darlington’s side.
Another good signing , a tough league but ash is the man.
