Athersley Recreation will play in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup final at Hillsborough for the first time in their history.
251 people crammed into Athersley’s Sheerien Park to see the home side beat Oughtibridge 4-0 in the eagerly-anticipated fixture.
Daniel Joynes and Joe Thornton gave Athersley a comfortable 2-0 half-time lead and Joynes scored again on 66 minutes to seal the win.
Jack Briscoe made the score even more emphatic in the closing stages.
Athersley will play the winners of Frickley Athletic and Worksop Parramore at Hillsborough.
In the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division, a last minute Tom Lee goal secured Bridlington Town a 2-1 win at Pickering Town.
Bridlington had earlier led through Craig Hogg before Ged Dalton equalised for Pickering.
Barton Town Old Boys were cruelly denied a crucial victory at fellow title chasers Worksop Parramore.
After Barton were leading 2-0 through Tim Taylor and Gareth Barlow’s goal going into the last minute, Luke Fletcher and Scott Bates scored to earn Worksop a 2-2 draw.
Nostell Miners Welfare lost 2-0 at Parkgate, while Albion Sports won 2-0 at Staveley Miners Welfare.
In Division One, Pontefract Collieries lost 3-2 at Hall Road Rangers.
In-form striker Kingsley Wetherald gave Pontefract the lead, but Ben Kingsley (2) and Connor Harman put Hall Road into a commanding position.
Nathan Perks gave Ponte some late hope with his goal.
Selby Town beat Dinnington Town 3-2 – Liam Shepherd, Gary Lumley and Louis Blackwell the scorers.
Despite going 2-0 up through Jonny Irving and Antony Leech, AFC Emley surrendered their lead and lost 3-2 to Teversal.
Colin Heath and Byron Littlefair earned Knaresborough Town a 2-0 win at Hallam.
Worsbrough Bridge and Hemsworth Miners Welfare drew 2-2 and Eccleshill United had the same result at Dronfield Town.
In the NCEL League Cup, Thackley won’t be winning the trophy for a third consecutive year as Dave Morgan and Lee Clapham’s team lost 4-1 at Heanor Town.
Brighouse Town are also out after losing 10-9 on penalties to Long Eaton United. The tie was 2-2 after extra time.
In the Evo Stik Division One North, Wakefield lost 3-0 to Padiham and Harrogate Railway were beaten 5-0 at Ramsbottom United.
