Joel Hughes is delighted with how the summer is developing for Yorkshire Amateur.

Hughes is helping to run the Ammers first team with Phil Harding and Chris Hitchings this season, combining the role with playing upfront.

The trio have kept hold of last season’s squad, apart from Tom Rose who has joined Nostell Miners Welfare. Former Garforth Town and Wakefield FC player Aiden Lewis has also been confirmed as their first new addition.

“It will be our 11th training session tonight and the progression we have seen has been outstanding,” Hughes said.

“We’re looking forward to our first pre-season match against Albion Sports this Saturday at Bracken Edge.”

The Ammers hoping to announce further new signings at the end of the week.
