Toolstation NCEL Premier Division
Armthorpe only survived after Pontefract Collieries lost on the (delayed) final day. Now with a new assistant manager and several new players, Armthorpe are hoping for a much better campaign.
Manager
Brian Johnston
During his three seasons at the helm, Johnston has done a remarkable job in keeping Armthorpe in the Premier Division – especially considering the limited resources he has. The former Askern boss is entering his fourth campaign in charge.
Opening Five Fixtures
Handsworth Parramore (H) – Emirates FA Cup, Liversedge (A), Handsworth Parramore (H), Harrogate Railway (H), Bottesford Town (H).
Player Movement
In: Tyla Bell (Leeds United), Charlie Braithwaite (Barnsley), Jack Waldron (Nostell MW), Neil Shepard (Westella), Brett Thomas (Westella). Luke Walker (Staveley MW), Jason Kearsley (Rossington).
Out: Leigh Overton (Ossett Town), Steven Gardner (Parkgate).
One to Watch
Jack Waldron
Waldron was courted by at least one Evo Stik club during his time with Nostell. The defender could follow in the footsteps of players like Jay Rollins and Joe Lumsden who have all gone onto higher climbs after playing for Armthorpe.
