Ossett Town clinched their first league win of the campaign in spectacular style, against local neighbours Brighouse Town.

An unbelievable first half saw Ossett’s Alex Peterson rattle the crossbar in the opening exchanges.

Peterson soon got his goal as rampant Ossett scored three times as half-time approached. The striker had a simple finish when former Brighouse defender Tyrone Gay headed the ball across goal.

The centre-back got a goal for himself soon after. Steve Ridley floated the corner in and Gay rose and his header found the net, with a bit of help off the post.

Peterson added the third after Devonte Morton ran through and gave him a tap-in.

Morton put the game to bed straight after half-time. Ridley’s pass sent him free and the young striker planted the ball over the head of former Town goalkeeper Tom Taylor.

Tom Haigh and Luke Parkin scored Brighouse’s consolation goals.
