Paul Hagreen saved a late penalty to ensure Garforth Town recorded back-to-back league wins for the first time since last October.

The 2-1 victory over Clipstone at the J.S White Community Stadium has definitely put the smiles back on the faces of Garforth supporters, who have endured a torrid ten months.

New left-back Luke Kitson got Garforth off to an excellent start with a header after just three minutes.

The lead lasted until two minutes into the second half when former Maltby striker Josh Nodder equalised. Nodder had hit the bar in the first half.

Garforth rode their luck as Lee Whittington hit the crossbar, but luck was with the Miners for a change. The winner came courtesy of Mitch Hamilton, who finally broke his duck after great link up play between himself, Hagreen and Lee Turner.

There was still the late drama, but Hagreen made the save down to his left from George Milner’s spot kick.
