Ryan Hindley says there is still room for improvement from Hallam, but overall he’s pleased.
Hallam are second after seven games, one point behind Winterton Rangers who are one point ahead having played one game more.
“With the quality we have got, it is what I would expect,” Hindley told Non League Yorkshire.
“We have looked so good going forward and we have shored up defensively with Tom Roebuck coming in.
“I think we will be there or there abouts. I’m happy. If someone had said to me at the start of the season that in the first seven games of the season that you’ll win five, draw one and lose one, I would go along with that.
“If we continue to play with a similar record for every seven games then we should be there or there abouts.
“We’re definitely getting there. I still feel we need to put 90 minutes together as I think we’re playing for 45 minutes, which has been enough so far.
“But when we come up against the Pontefracts, the Penistones, the Emleys, you have to play for 90 minutes.”
Hallam head to Knaresborough Town tomorrow. The likes of Michael Blythen, Jake Currie, Scott Whittaker, Jack Hargreaves and Simon Mirfin are expected to be back after missing the 1-0 win at Nostell Miners Welfare.
