Halifax Irish manager Chris Ellerby has taken charge of struggling of Nostell Miners Welfare.

Ellerby has enjoyed quite a bit of success with Halifax in the West Riding County Amateur League.

Scott Atkinson, who stood in as caretaker manager after the departure of Graham Nicholas, is Ellerby’s assistant.

Chairman Kevin Allsop told Non League Yorkshire: “He came across well at his interview and he buys into the club’s philosophies.

“He brings success over the last six years and hopefully he can turn things around for us.

“He buys into the sporting director model which we want to use and he’s going to be engaging with players who genuinely want to play for the club.

“Scott will be his assistant. Scott has been effectively the caretaker manager after stepping up from the second team and by being Chris’ assistant, it links the two sides up.”

His first game in charge is the trip to Glasshoughton Welfare tomorrow.
