Matty Thompson and Robbie Wadsworth are the two notable new faces at Nostell Miners Welfare.

Both players have left Yorkshire Amateur to join Chris Ellerby’s attempt to pull Nostell out of trouble.

Midfielder Thompson, son of Brighouse Town coach Dave Thompson, played for Nostell under Paul Lines and in the team that made history by getting to the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup final.

Defender Wadsworth had been with the Ammers for a few seasons and previously featured for AFC Emley.

Conor Presley and former Liversedge goalkeeper Jamie Waggett have also signed on at Nostell.

Presley and Thompson both scored during their debuts in the 3-2 defeat to Dronfield Town.
