Craig Morley and Gary Collier fired Armthorpe Welfare to a vital victory at winless basement side Parkgate.

The defeat for Parkgate leaves them five adrift of second bottom and nine of leaving the relegation zone. Revitalised Armthorpe are now within three points of fourth-bottom Retford United.

Stalwart Morley put Armthorpe in front after just eight minutes.

Welfare did ride their luck as Danny Harris then beat three men before his shot was well-saved by Armthorpe’s goalkeeper.

Parkgate worked hard, but their efforts went unrewarded as former Selby Town striker Gary Collier struck to extend Armthorpe’s lead on the hour mark.
