Tadcaster Albion 0-1 Ossett Town
Perennial hero Danny Frost dramatically scored in the 91st minute to secure victory for Ossett Town.
It was a fortuitous three points for Grant Black’s Ossett as they rode their luck at numerous points. Their goalkeeper Leigh Overton was the real hero after producing a series of magnificent saves.
The local derby was lucky to go ahead due to a minor floodlight problem. Referee Samuel Barrott was patient while Tadcaster rung for an electrician, who fixed the issue. The game eventually kicked off at 8.45pm.
Tadcaster were dominant for a lot of the first half. Conor Sellars had a chance cleared off-the-line by Tyrone Gay, while Overton used some juggling skills to prevent Tom Corner scoring with a header.
Tadcaster had more golden opportunities in the second half. Sellars watched another desperately cleared at the last minute. Overton also denied the former Worksop Town winger with a fine save.
Even when Corner limped off, Tadcaster remained a threat with a makeshift front-line of Rob Youhill and Adam Baker.
It wasn’t one-sided though as Ossett did have their moments, especially from corners. But Frost’s close range finish was harsh on Tadcaster.
