Roebuck heads crucial winner for Hallam

Toolstation NCEL Division One

Tom Roebuck’s brilliant leap and header earned Hallam all three points in the must-win game at Penistone Church.

The late goal even knocked Church off top spot as new leaders AFC Emley beat Westella & Willerby.

Pontefract Collieries are still right behind in third after the 4-1 win over local rivals Selby Town.

Kane Reece, Chris Wood (2) and Jordan Turner got the goals. Craig Tonkinson had given Selby a half-time lead.

Adam Shaw’s last gasp penalty saved a point for Yorkshire Amateur, who drew 2-2 at Rossington Main.

Main had thought Jake Vernon’s last minute strike had won it for them. Lee Holmes had earlier cancelled out Shaw’s opener.

The woes go on for Nostell Miners Welfare who lost 3-2 to Campion. Mark Bett (2) and Lee Bradshaw scored for Campion. Billy Grogan got both goals for Nostell.
