Yorkshire Amateur manager Phil Harding
Phil Harding has seen a massive improvement from Yorkshire Amateur in last three games.
The Ammers had been on a seven-match winless until two games ago when they beat Hall Road Rangers.
“We’re three unbeaten so it is better than what it was,” Harding told Non League Yorkshire.
“There’s been a massive improvement. We beat Hall Road, we have should have won at Dronfield and at Rossington we had chances we didn’t take.
“Prior to those three games I was very concerned. Defensively as a team we were poor, but in the last three games I can honestly count on one hand how many chances those three teams had against us.
“We have got it right by working hard in training. We’re a million miles away from where we want to be in the league, but it is getting better.
“We’re underachieving, but we have had a lot of disruptions. We’ve lost players so we had to rebuild a side that has been together for two years.
“Things are looking up though, we are a lot harder to beat.”
Harding has also revealed that he is fed up of people making approaches for his players without following the correct procedure.
“I’m wound up with it because there’s clubs ringing my players and then putting seven days in after,” he said.
“I won’t say who they are, but I’m sick of it. It is happening all the time.
“It is unsettling for the team. All the time, someone says ‘so-on-so rang me’. What’s all that about.
“Fortunately we kept a lot of the lads who have been approached and a lot of the lads deserve credit for staying loyal to the club.”
Ammers host Campion tomorrow.
