There was FA Trophy disappointment in the First Round for our Yorkshire heroes Farsley Celtic and Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Both teams have had magnificent runs, which have both included victories over higher league teams.

Stocksbridge were beaten at National League North outfit Nuneaton Town, despite taking the lead through another stunning Harrison Biggins goal.

However, they were quickly pegged by Nuneaton’s David Morgan. Joe Ironside and James Clifton guided Nuneaton to victory in the second half.

Southport, from the National League Premier, were far too good for Farsley at Throstle Nest. ‘Port took an early lead through Ryan Higgins. Jordan Lussey, Jamie Allen and James Caton helped to wrap up the win.

In the other ties, North Ferriby lost 1-0 at Alfreton Town, York City finally won after beating Worcester City, while Guiseley won 1-0 at Chorley.

Harrogate Town face a replay after drawing 3-3 with Barrow.
