Kai Hancock (centre) scored a hat-trick for Athersley

Kai Hancock scored a first half hat-trick as Athersley Rec won 5-1 at struggling Retford United.

The Rec led 3-1 at the break and Sam Bebbington and Liam Owen sealed the victory in the final few minutes.

Young goalkeeper Luke Wilson was the hero for promotion-chasing Thackley after saving Craig Fletcher’s penalty in the goal-less draw with Parkgate.

The spot kick was given in the first half after Jerry White’s foul.

Parkgate suffered a major blow late-on as star striker Josh Moore was sent off after committing a reckless tackle on Kris Hargreaves. Moore will now miss the festive and New Year fixtures.

Handsworth Parramore duo Aaron Moxam and Jon Froggatt both scored hat-tricks in the 7-1 win over Harrogate Railway. Simon Harrison got the other goal – player/manager Paul Beesley struck for Railway.

Hemsworth Miners Welfare surprisingly lost 6-3 at home to Barton Town Old Boys, who had only won once in the league prior to kick off. Luke Danville, Adam Wilson and Richard Collier’s goals were in vain for the Wells.
