Harrison Biggins scored both for Stocksbridge Park Steels, who finally ended their winless Division One North run.
Biggins struck twice in the opening 23 minutes and the Steels held on, despite conceding a late goal.
Shaw Lane AFC scored late through Gary Burnett, but conceded an equaliser which meant they had to settle for a 1-1 draw with AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
In Division One North, Lewis Nightingale was controversially sent off after just 11 minutes for a second bookable offence in Farsley Celtic’s eventual 3-1 win over Burscough.
Farsley were already trailing when Nightingale was on the receiving end of some heavy-handed refereeing.
James Walshaw, Ross Daly and the returning Ryan Watson grabbed the points for Farsley.
Goole AFC lost 3-1 to Trafford – Bobby Johnson scored a penalty for Goole.
Ossett Albion were beaten 2-0 at joint leaders Lancaster City, while Brighouse lost 3-2 to Droylsde and Scarborough Athletic were on the end of a 1-0 defeat at Colne.
Frickley’s Premier Division trip to Nantwich was abandoned at half-time because of fog. The scores were goal-less.
