Nostell Miners Welfare 2-2 Knaresborough Town
American wonder-kid Connor Presley salvaged a potentially vital point for Nostell Miners Welfare after scoring a last minute equaliser.
The hard-earned point, a rare ray of sunshine for Nostell, arrests a slide of six consecutive defeats.
A fighting spirit, that has been missing for most of the season, was definitely on display as Nostell fell behind twice.
Knaresborough took their original lead after a back-pass gave Nostell goalkeeper Max Dearnley trouble. An error followed and Colin Heath was presented with a simple tap-in.
The home side responded straightaway through Scott Smith’s superb volley.
The goal that appeared to have won the contest for Knaresborough came with 13 minutes to go. Former Harrogate Railway midfielder Simon Parkes scored inside the six-yard-box from a corner.
All hope looked lost for Nostell until ex-FC Dallas attacker Presley, a temporary recruit from Aspire Pro Sports, struck.
