Glasshoughton Welfare are hopeful of completing the signing of a new goalkeeper this evening.

Welfare stopper Andy Holland looks set to miss the rest of the season because of a hernia operation.

It has posed a problem, but Darren Holmes believes the situation is in hand ahead of the trip to Yorkshire Amateur on Saturday.

“Andy goes for a operation this week which may put him out for the rest of the season,” Holmes said.

“We’re hoping to sign another goalkeeper today and he’s got a lot of experience. Hopefully he will be a good addition.”
