Evo Stik Division One North

Ossett Albion 0-4 Ramsbottom United

Adam Muller was sent off during Ossett Albion’s defeat to Ramsbottom

Four goals in 18 first half minutes condemned ten man Ossett Albion to a home defeat against Ramsbottom United.

The first 25 minutes of the match were fairly even although Ramsbottom seemed the more assured in their play. Then on 27 minutes Albion conceded a penalty and Gareth Seddon stepped up to give Brett Souter no chance in the Albion goal. Within three minutes Ramsbottom had doubled their lead. Reagan Ogle finished when the ball came to him after Albion had blocked an earlier shot.

Albion’s job was made even harder when Adam Muller was sent off. Just a minute later Albion went further behind as they failed to clear the ball and Nathan Webb made no mistake. Just before the interval Souter failed to hold a cross and Paul Linwood managed to get the ball out from under his feet to finish.

The second half saw Albion taking the game to Ramsbottom even though they were a man down. They were awarded a penalty on the hour but Rob Bordman fired the ball against the inside of a post. It rebounded, struck the back of goalkeeper Martin Fearon and went for a corner.
