Gavin Allott headed Shaw Lane’s winner in the dying seconds
Gavin Allott hit the winner in the dying seconds as Shaw Lane AFC dramatically beat Newcastle Town 2-1 in Barnsley.
The Ducks were heading for a defeat in the clash as Jordan Cole had given Newcastle the lead before half-time after Kieran Lugsden and Allott had missed chances for Shaw Lane.
As the clock ticked, Newcastle became increasingly likely to become the first team to beat Shaw Lane on their own turf in the league this season.
That was until captain marvel Ryan Qualter forced the ball home from a scramble in the 85th minute.
That sparked another dramatic finale at Shaw Lane and Allott was the hero with his header.
Frickley Athletic were beaten 2-1 at Warrington Town in the Premier Division, despite taking the lead through Gibraltar International Adam Priestley.
