Stocksbridge gave their play-offs hopes a shot in the arm with a comfortable win at Bracken Moor.

The Steels laid their marker with the first half opener through Scott Ruthven who deflected Richard Stirrup’s shot into the net. Stocksbridge’s dominance was so clear as they had eleven shots to Loughborough’s two in the first half.

Young Brodie Litchfield will have boosted his confidence when he pounced on a loose ball to double Stocksbridge’s lead in the second half.

Stirrup then added the third with a header, his first goal for the Steels since returning from travelling in Australia.

Karl Demidh pulled a goal back for Loughborough before man of the match Harrison Biggins got himself on the score-sheet.

Sam Thorpe reduced the deficit late-on.
