Goole AFC have received a major boost 24 hours after the heart-breaking draw with Mossley.
Fellow strugglers Prescot Cables have been deducted three points for playing an illegible player which means Goole AFC are within one point of climbing out of the relegation zone going into their last six games.
Going off their last two performances – the win at leaders Farsley Celtic and the Mossley draw – Goole have an excellent chance of pulling off the great escape – especially as they face Prescot next Saturday.
Goole thought they had beaten Mossley as the game approached its conclusion.
Joel Dixon’s free kick midway through the second half had been converted by Sam Colbear.
However, Mossley nicked a point thanks to Tom Dean’s last minute header.
