Departed defender Tyrone Gay says Ossett Town are in “safe hands”, as he begins his new adventure with Hyde United.
The former Brighouse Town title-winner was a crucial part of Grant Black’s brilliant team last season.
His performances for the play-off finalists earned him a place in the Division One North team of the year.
“My time at Ossett has been a rollercoaster with the highlight being last season,” Gay told Non League Yorkshire.
“It was just disappointing that we couldn’t see out those last three minutes in the playoff final.
“However, with (chairman) James (Rogers), (vice-captain) Lee (Broadbent), the Backslappers and the current management team in place they are in safe hands and I wish them all the best for the future.”
Gay is now looking forward to playing for Hyde, who are managed by former Garforth defender Darren Kelly. Hyde also have several Yorkshire players in their team, including Harry Coates, David Brown and Paddy Miller.
“Daz was the first manager to get in contact about the upcoming season and remained extremely patient and supportive after I told him I would be considering my options before deciding,” he added.
“The squad they have built and the setup at Hyde is unbelievable with competition and quality across the field. We have already began to build that team bond and are all looking forward with excitement about the season ahead.”
