Nostell Miners Welfare goalkeeper Leon Scott Bell saved two penalties in his side’s defeat at Hallam, who won at home in the league for the first time this season.

Nostell, whose two match winning run came to an end, put in another brave performance having being reduced to ten men in first half when Eddy Busfield was shown a second yellow card.

Shortly after the home side were awarded their first penalty, but Scott Bell saved from Tom Roebuck and then right on half time he also saved Chris Woods spot kick.

The home side finally broke through on the hour when former Sheffield United youngster Alex Brown headed in Billy Wright’s cross to finally find a way past the keeper and break their stubborn resistance.

Thanks to Mark Radford from Hallam for this report.
