Toolstation NCEL Division One
FC Bolsover 3-5 Selby Town
Things just keep getting better for Selby Town as Christian Fox’s men won at FC Bolsover to climb to heady heights of fourth spot.
A play-offs position is unfamiliar territory for Selby, who believe they have finally the right man to lead them back in the Premier Division for the first time since 2012.
Selby are showing great character in every single match at the moment. They recovered from conceding an early goal to lead 4-1 at half-time.
Young starlet Casey Stewart was the shining light for Selby. He provided the assist for Liam Flanagan’s equaliser before getting another when he supplied Joe Dale.
Dale soon got his second before Stewart caused William Harcourt to score an own goal.
There was a slight scare as Bolsover worked their way back into the match, but Brett Lucas killed the hosts off with a late goal.
The Team
Selby Town: Hagreen, Pearse, Lock, Snaith, Gothard (captain), Foster-Vigors, Stewart, Freer, Flanagan, Clamp, Dale. Subs: Hullock, Malhotra, Lucas, Metcalfe, Bissett.
Tremendous result for us. In order to be even handed, well done to Brett Lucas for his first competitive goal for the club. Perhaps he could graduate to getting the winner in the vase on Saturday :o)
Another positive result for Christian Fox ,his players and the club. The negative comments that people started to make earlier on in the campaign so far have stopped.Let’s hope that continues. The players of the future are here and the journey men of today have gone.Good luck to all at the club from all supporters in SPAIN
Joe Dale just gets better and better. I was recently on a stag do with him in Berlin. I knew he was going to be a natural born finisher in front of goal when i saw how cool, calm and composed he was pulling pints on the Beer Bike when travelling at speed past Checkpoint Charlie.
Tighten up at back and boy you will scare the living daylights out of teams. With the pace and passing you have the potential is there.
I was there last night and was very impressed by you. Sadly we could get the equaliser, and then hit with the killer goal by you was game over. Can only admire you and the team.
